Third round (leg11) of the Race to Nigeria masters (Pro/Am) tournament

11th leg race to Nigeria masters:D. Ali takes lead on day 3 of  the tournament.

With 29°C weather condition and light rain showers in the city of Owerri; 7 players continued to battle through the tournament and players are unsure of their outcome as the leadership of the board have been taken over from L. Onjefu by D. Ali. The question who takes the trophy in the finals rings in their minds.
With 5 over par 77 in the third round, D. Ali gets himself the first place on the leaderboard. His game comprises of 10 par, 6 bogey and 2 birdie and with the cumulative score of 227, he sits a stroke ahead of his closest contender.

In an interview with the africantour correspondent, the golfer expressed great excitement about his performance and hopes to make the cut eventually

Coming in second place is G. Inalegwu who played 7 over par 79 in first round, 5 over par 77 in second round but went on forward from 7th to the 2nd place on the board after he shot a course par 72 in the third round. He rounded up with a cumulative score of +12 after 54 holes (228).

​

“I didn’t expect that the game will be this better, so I am excited that it is and I hope that the final  round will be good enough to get me the cut”, Inalegwu said in a media chat.

 

L. Onjefu who have been leading the board from the beginning of the tournament founded himself in the third place after playing 10 over par (82).

​

There is a huge anticipation on who finally gets the trophy by making the cut, stay tuned as each players battle their way through the final round.
