Christopher Francis goes low on day2, Seconded by John Alex on a tough day @the Arsenal Golf Course


  Day 2 at  Arsenal Golf Course  did not disappoint, as the menacing layout defended itself nicely, once again, against the tour players with only two of them been able to go below par on day two. Christopher Ambes’ 6-under 66 was the best round by 5 shot, but there was on one other player who went below par on day 2 also.

The opening-round scoring average was 78 .375 surely inflated by a handful of mid-80s rounds from club pros in the field.......but hey, note this, tour pros weren’t immune to the big numbers, too..


Arsenal golf course, offering an armada of birdies and a lone  bogey in Tuesdays second round of the 8th leg, Road to Nigeria  Masters Series. Christopher Ambe was able to sail away from all others and took a staggering 6-shot lead with a stunning 6-under-par 66, a score that was 9.5 strokes better than his first round score of 76.


A day day earlier in the first round, he had plenty of other players ahead of him..where two amongst the players, shot pair's of 71 to sit atop of the leader board.


But under an overcast skies and on a slightly softer course and less crusty greens, a fleet of players came charging and before noon talk of a runaway had been silenced. Ambe quickly hit the ground running birdied four of his first nine holes before stumbling on his single blemish at the eleveth. he regained some distance between himself and the field with three late birdies on the back nine.



Meanwhile Bolu Gbadegesin and Jimoh Ibrahim who were overnight leaders after shooting scores of 1-under par 71's. In the both players dropped off the top spot, after cardin scores of 83 and 77 respectively, with Jimoh remaining in second spot and 7 strokes of the lead, at 4-over part after 36 holes.


By virtue of a 71 on Tuesday, John Alex of a graduate of David Mark golf Academy  pulled a little closer, 12 shots off the lead at 10-over par.

Leading with a cumulative score of 2-under par 142  after 36 holes Christopher Ambe now takes full charge heading into the moving Day @ the Arsenal golf course. And set for a 7th victory this season.
