Second round (leg7) of the Race to Nigeria masters (Pro/Am) tournament

7th leg race to Nigeria masters: G. Inalegwu maintained top of the leaderboard after a brilliant second round at the Arsenal golf course

​In the attractive city of Owerri, 6 amateur golfers swing at the luscious pastures of the famous and eclectic Arsenal golf course. This number is set to rise soon as the younger generation catches up in the game. 

G. Inalegwu, the resilient player, finished the day, top of the leaderboard. He started his round with a pars, then a birdie which followed on the 9th hole. He opened his back 9 with a birdie and bogey on 10th/11th hole; two more birdies on 12th and 13th, then bogeys and pars on the rest of the holes for a round score of 1 under (71).

Speaking after his round in a chat, G. Inalegwu expressed great excitement with his performance and hopes to replicate the same in the 3rd and final rounds

With a strong tie D. Ali finishes with 1 over (73) to hold down his place as top of the leader board of. The effervescent player would have to secure his spot on the leader board by moving upward or nothing. "I still have a few more rounds to break out of this tie and be the master of my game. I'm very hopeful" Ali said in a media chat with theafricantour correspondent.

Following closely at second is U. Anoruo, a very familiar player with 5 birdies and 5 bogeys, playing 1 over (73). The player would be ceasing this opportunity to prove himself. He doesn't start out really impressive but we're expecting the best for this player who has been dedicated to continuous growth and practice.

The tournament gets tougher as the remaining players are unsure of victory but are willing to grapple till the end. The fuzz on everyone's mind is if G. Inalegwu would stay top of the leaderboard, we're In the middle of the race stay tuned to find out!
